FROM CHAOS TO CALM

Parenting Group

Relational Parenting aims to treat children and adolescents with challenging behaviours. Although children do not attend RT sessions - they are the focus. When RT treatment is successful, children reduce their challenging behaviours and families see a decrease in overall conflict.

Some issues treated with RT include:

  • Angry outbursts

  • Defiant behaviour

  • Aggression

  • Violence

  • ADHD

  • ODD

  • At-risk behaviour such as running away or drug use

ONLINE PARENTING PROGRAM

FROM CHAOS TO CALM

From Chaos to Calm is based on an innovative form of family therapy called New Vision of Relationships (NVR, also known as Non-Violent Resistance). It was developed for aggressive, violent, controlling and self-destructive behaviour in young people, and has now been adapted for a variety of issues.

A number of recent studies have shown that NVR is very effective in improving the behaviour of a large percentage of young people, reducing parents’ feelings of helplessness and raising their confidence, as well as bringing about a more peaceful atmosphere all round in the family. The retention rate, i.e. the percentage of families that remain in therapy, is over 90%.

Parents who participate in From Chaos to Calm learn skills and tools to address their child's challenging behaviours in a supportive, friendly environment. Some parents report the normalisation and validation of their experience is a powerful impact of the group. It can be empowering to learn you're not alone!

The program focuses on changes that parents can make to their own behaviour, allowing them to be the agent of change in their child's and family's functioning.
