TAMAR SLOAN
Registered Psychologist
As a registered psychologist with over 25 years of experience in the community sector in the Canberra region, I've dedicated my career to supporting young people and their families. I began as a youth worker in residential programs for children with challenging behaviors, driven by my passion for working with vulnerable youth. This passion led me to become a secondary school teacher, where I taught exclusively in alternative education settings for disengaged students.

Since completing my psychology qualifications in 2011, I have continued my commitment to providing meaningful support to young people and their families, primarily within school environments. I believe in the transformative power of connection and our ability to be agents of change in our own lives.

Ten years ago, I discovered the Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) framework, a powerful approach that I've been passionate about ever since. I've seen firsthand the positive impact NVR can have on families, whether working directly with parents or in group settings. It is a privilege to witness parents building stronger, more fulfilling family connections.

I look forward to partnering with you on this journey as you become an agent of change within your own family.
